The number of forest fires in Russia has decreased significantly
The area of forest fires in the Far East has decreased by 3,5 times compared to last year; in the largest region of the country, Yakutia, there are 10 times fewer fires.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustni announced this today at a meeting in Yakutia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 30 Russian regions, outbreaks were eliminated within the first day. Here is the concrete result! And at 13 they were not allowed to appear at all. And if we compare it with last year, the number of dangerous fires decreased by 15% and the area covered by fire decreased by almost 2 times,” Mishustin said.
He set the task of further reducing the number of fires.
“The main task is to at least halve the area of fires on forest lands compared to the values for the previous five years. This should become a guideline for you,” Mishustin said.
