Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev spoke about this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“The number of visits by ships of non-Black Sea NATO states to the Black Sea has increased threefold. The intensity of flights along the Russian borders by tactical and reconnaissance aircraft has almost doubled, and by early warning aircraft - by 3 times. A steady course has been taken for further expansion of the Alliance, where Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina are being forced into. The deployment of elements of the US global missile defense system in Europe continues.
Along with placing the Aegis Ashore complex on combat duty in Romania, it is planned to begin deploying a position area in Poland. A decision was made to deploy American anti-missile systems in the Republic of Korea. Under the pretext of the so-called “forced response” to the intensification of Russia’s activities in the Arctic, the NATO leadership is taking measures to strengthen the northern flank of the bloc,” Patrushev said.
