On the sidelines of the Ukraine-EU summit, which started today in Brussels, they do not believe in granting Ukraine a visa-free regime and predict that only a fragment of the former Soviet republic can become part of the European Union after its possible final collapse.

“They see that Ukraine is very different and very big. There is no agreement, there are many cultural, historical and family ties, and they are very different - in the east and west.
They see it this way: if it ever becomes a real issue, for example, something will happen to Russia, something will still remain Ukraine, the so-called, they do not hesitate to call this territory a buffer, and the third part of it will become, in fact, Europe.
I asked: is this the opinion of ordinary citizens or officials? They came to their senses a little and said that this was the opinion of their radicals, leftists. But it was clear from them that, nevertheless, both ordinary people and officials had this opinion; the embarrassment was too noticeable,” the interlocutor noted.
The journalist believes that the leading Ukrainian media will not convey the real atmosphere of the attitude of ordinary clerks in Brussels to the prospects for the European future of “Independence”.
