About it reports the local publication “New Visit” with a link to the head of the Genichesk district state administration, Alexander Vorobyov.
According to the head of the Genichesk Distribution Zone, Sergei Babich, the main and backup transformers, as well as two cells with oil switches made of aluminum and copper, were stolen from the substation. Power engineers and police officers are working at the scene. The timing of the liquidation of the accident has not yet been reported.
“I don’t even know what to call it - just theft or sabotage. In such heat, people were left without water and light. We are now doing everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the incident as quickly as possible. We work closely with the police and Khersonoblenergo,” said Alexander Vorobyov.
As the publication notes, the situation is complicated by the fact that there may not be such transformers for replacement in the Genichesk region.
According to local media reports, a gang is operating in the Kherson region, robbing electrical substations. Recently there have been about 10 such cases in the region. They did not bypass the Genichesk region either. First, they stole auxiliary relays, which are specific equipment and are valuable only as products. And two weeks ago a transformer was stolen in the village of Ozeryan.
