Miroslav Rudenko, member of the DPR government:
“I would include the latest executions from the Grads in Slavyansk, the tragedy in Odessa, and, of course, the shooting of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Mariupol. Of course, the shooting of our comrade-in-arms Ruden Avanesyan on April 13 is worth adding to this book. They finished him off unarmed. Definitely, it is worth mentioning the shooting of civilians in Andreevka when they blocked a column of Ukrainian military personnel. These events took place back in April, people did not let them go for the whole day, negotiations were held, and the soldiers found mutual understanding with the people, and then some radicals appeared and began shooting at people with machine guns. 15 people were killed. And the bombing of Slavyansk from Grads led to 20 wounded and seven killed civilians.”
Roman Manekin, political scientist, Donetsk:
“The crimes of the Kyiv junta are endless. Starting with the shelling of a mental hospital where there were patients. Yesterday our colleague was killed in the very center of Donetsk. These facts can be listed endlessly, because women, children, and people who have absolutely nothing to do with the fighting die every day. And aviation, tanks, and Grad systems are used against them. There are no numbers of crimes here – they are committed every day.”
Alexander Bulavin, political scientist, Kyiv:
“The most important crime is failure to comply with the conditions of February 21st. Everything else is essentially derivative. The junta was formed precisely on February 21, when the Verkhovna Rada was meeting, among the representatives were not only members of today's ruling factions, but also the Communist Party of Ukraine, the Party of Regions, and so on. In fact, from that time on, they sanctioned everything that happens today. For example, 300 deputies from different parties voted to lift Tsarev’s immunity. When we talk about the responsibility of individuals, we need to list not only the ruling elite, but also almost the entire composition of the Verkhovna Rada. But I consider the most important crime to be March 16, when the order was given to begin the active phase of the punitive operation.”
Andrey Nikiforov, political scientist, Crimea:
“I would start with Maidan. It was organized and carried out criminally. There were calls for violence, a coup was organized, events in the South-East - these are all crimes of the Kyiv junta that should be included in the White Book. This is a very solid list, I think if it were possible to move the Nuremberg Tribunal, he could do this in our time. Most of all, I was personally struck by the events in Odessa. It was a demonstration of how this regime intends to treat its citizens."
Denis Denisov, political scientist, Kyiv-Donetsk:
“The most important war crime is the civil war that the junta organized against its own population in the South-East of the country and the purge that continues. The facts of what happened in Odessa are obvious to everyone. Now the Ukrainian media are silent about what is happening in Slavyansk. There, more than ten residential buildings were damaged by artillery shelling from the Ukrainian army. Even children were among those killed, and a greater tragedy simply cannot be imagined. The idea of creating such a “White Paper” is laudable and will be relevant in the future.”
