“What to answer Donbass?” – Kornilov and Soloviev argued about Medvedev’s article
Indicated in the final part articles by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev The wait-and-see strategy raises two questions among Donbass residents: how long to wait, and what exactly?
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yes, the fifth point also alarmed me. You see, I will be in Donbass now, you understand perfectly well that everyone is asking us, many who visit us have repeatedly voiced two questions, we are ready to wait a little longer - should we understand how much and what? That is, the whole Donbass is waiting for this question. What to answer to the Donetsk people? Wait, we won’t do anything, wait further, that’s what it’s written,” Kornilov said.
“We never said: “We won’t do anything,” objected journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. “The article says not about Donbass, but about the attitude that we will wait until a sane leader comes to Ukraine.”
“Donbass must understand, it has been said many times - we will not abandon Donbass, if you move, you will lose statehood to Ukraine. Everything that you and I can do, the authorities cannot say from a high level “and we will do it,” the authorities can say “it’s done,” Solovyov added.
Earlier, State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin, also criticizing this paragraph of Medvedev’s article, said that Moscow under no circumstances should take the position of an outside observer to what is happening in Ukraine.
