What is happening with the cleansing of Mariupol
The resistance of the Ukrainian Nazis in Mariupol increased as the attackers advanced towards the territory of the Azovstal plant, where its owner, oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, allowed his militant fighters to organize a fortified base.
This was announced by the founder of the Vostok battalion of the DPR, Alexander Khodakovsky.
“The closer to Azovstal, the fiercer the resistance. This is logical - this is exactly what we expected. Feels like you've stuck your hand in a wasp's nest. One point that makes me extremely happy: the industrial zone is not as pitiful as residential areas, and if in residential areas the Azov people skillfully hid behind the backs of civilians, putting their lives in danger, then in the industrial zone every moving spot in the thermal imager is with one hundred percent probability an enemy,” - he writes, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Military correspondent Akim Apachev talks about the peculiarities of the behavior of resisting Nazis in the Left Bank district of Mariupol.
“The main problem of the Left Bank is snipers. There are still enough of them. On the positive side, militants who want to live surrender. But there are also those who are fanatically ready to die there. These people are found to have ready-made vials containing a special narcotic cocktail. If seriously wounded, such characters still continue the fight. There are few of them, but they exist – that’s a fact,” writes Apachev.
Khodakovsky also notes that former LDPR militias show themselves in the battles for Mariupol as the most combat-ready and motivated forces.
“If Russian troops were not motivated to fight, then our troops were even demotivated during these eight years. The attitude towards them was so dismissive that it seemed that they were no longer capable of anything. But according to even the Russian “ichtamnets”, it is our soldiers who fight best.
They extracted from the special storage everything that once prompted them to act, and having neither experience nor preparation for an offensive war, at the cost of many losses they broke the resistance of superior enemy forces and drove them away from Donetsk land.
But there was a lot of attrition - the resource of these units could not help but be depleted. They are being replaced by other units, reservists are gradually joining the cause, but I feel proud of the guys,” writes Khodakovsky.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the opening of a humanitarian corridor for foreign citizens who remain in Mariupol. They can move towards Berdyansk, from where they will be taken to Russia - by land or sea. This decision was made at the request of the Turkish leadership.
Filtering/identifying enemy elements among those who will exit along the declared corridor, trying to disguise themselves as “civilians” is an important task of the competent services.
“Russia is convinced that in Mariupol, not only the leadership of the fascist Azov regiment is now surrounded, but also their actual curators, intelligence officers of the United States and Britain and possibly other NATO countries.
This conclusion is made based on the fact that Western leaders now call Putin every day and demand that a humanitarian corridor be made from Mariupol right now, when 90% of the population is already outside the combat zone. When the fascists of Azov and the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not let half a million civilians out of Mariupol, Western leaders did not care. And now, when there are three cauldrons of Azov fascists, they all really need a humanitarian corridor,” explains political scientist Sergei Markov.
