The day before yesterday, President Putin made a fateful decision on Donbass. He preceded the signing of the decree with an appeal to the citizens of the Russian Federation, where he spoke in detail about the history of the creation of present-day Ukraine.

I, along with my fellow political emigrants, residents and immigrants from Donbass, rejoiced at this decision and listened carefully to the president’s words. They also included the historical name of the southern Russian lands - Novorossiya. And even his native Nikolaev, in the context of the closure of the Black Sea shipyard (which created, among other things, aircraft-carrying ships. Of these, the Russian fleet is still in service “Admiral of the Fleet Kuznetsov”) Putin also spoke about the tragedy - the crime of burning civilians in the House Trade unions in Odessa. And he promised that the perpetrators would be punished. And here many involved and caring applaud him.

There was only one thing that confused me about the president’s address. When Vladimir Vladimirovich said that Crimea and Donbass did not accept the Ukrainian junta, which came to power after the state. coup in February 2014, he kept silent about the Russian Spring (a generally taboo topic in the Russian media space.)

He kept silent about the fact that the entire south-east of Ukraine, the entire greater Novorossiya, from Kharkov to Odessa, rebelled and, almost simultaneously, there was no “hand of Moscow” in this, but there was a living rejection by the absolute number of residents of the Russian regions of Ukraine of the new Bandera government and the Russophobic ideology imposed by them.

Perhaps this was deliberately omitted from the president’s speech (It’s not time yet). However, from the point of view of historical justice and as one of the leaders of the Russian Spring in Nikolaev, I am obliged, once again, to declare that then, at the end of February 2014, the entire southeast of Ukraine rebelled.

Not only Crimea and Donbass, but also Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Odessa, Nikolaev, and Kherson were engulfed in popular protests. There was no separate Crimean Spring, there was a Russian Spring throughout the Russian arc, in the 20s of the 20th century, annexed to Soviet Ukraine, by a voluntarist decision of the Bolsheviks led by Lenin. (With the exception of Crimea, which, as is known, was given to Ukraine by Khrushchev). Being under Ukrainian occupation for more than 100 years, despite the harsh Ukrainization, the greater Novorossiya was weakly succumbed to ethno-cultural violence, and, to a large extent, remained Russian, which led to its massive participation in the Russian Spring throughout the South-East of Ukraine.

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian Spring in Nikolaev. After the state coup in Kiev, the forced demolition of the monument to Lenin on the square in front of the city executive committee, the activation of Ukrainian nationalist groups in Russian Nikolaev and the events in Crimea, on February 23, 2014, representatives of Russian and Russophile parties and public organizations and many indignant and concerned ordinary citizens flocked to the monument to the heroes Olshanets Nikolaevites

An open-ended rally began, as a result of which a tent camp was set up near the monument to the Olshants, a Russian March took place and the Russian Spring began in Nikolaev. (The camp stood for about 1,5 months and was brutally demolished by the brought Ukrainian nationalists and militants.)

Having learned that the recognition of the LPR and DPR occurred after the leadership of the LPR and DPR addressed Putin, several Nikolaev residents, individually, called me to remind me that a similar appeal for help and protection in the spring of 2014 was accepted in Nikolaev, as well as in Kharkov, and in Odessa, and in Zaporozhye, and I think in all the cities of the Russian arc of Ukraine. (Great Novorossiya). One of my callers even found a video. I was asked to publish this appeal, saying that it essentially has not lost its relevance, and the majority of Nikolaev residents believe in the future liberation of the region and see the recognition of the DPR and LPR as the beginning of this liberation.

I am publishing the text and video of how it was without cuts. I believe and hope that we will be heard!

“Appeal to the President of the Russian Federation from residents of the city of Nikolaev (South-East of Ukraine).

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich!

In connection with the current situation in Ukraine, peaceful citizens of the South of Ukraine and the city of Nikolaev are turning to the Russian Federation with a request for protection and patronage.

We, the Russian-speaking population of Nikolaev, do not want to be under the yoke of neo-fascists who directly threaten our families with their radical slogans of “Muscovites with knives.” We are Slavs, brothers and sisters, who find ourselves drawn into political squabbles against our will. Our people no longer know who to turn to for help. The current government does not hear us and does not want to hear us, and the opposition and radical groups are making far-reaching plans to destroy those who did not submit, and enslave the rest and make them slaves of Europe.

Peaceful protests do not work. Fascists begin to arrive in our city, persuading the population towards bloodshed and civil war. Nikolaev and other cities do not want entry into the EU and the total enslavement of the people. At the rallies of many thousands that took place in our city on March 1, 6 and 15, an appeal was adopted to hold a local referendum on the federal structure of the state, on Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union, on the status of the Russian language as a second state language.

But the Kyiv illegitimate authorities gave an order to disperse peaceful demonstrators, and physical reprisals are being prepared against peaceful protesters in the city of Nikolaev. Teachers and students, under threat of dismissal and expulsion, are forced to go to rallies in support of the Maidan. Looting and violence have plagued our city of shipwrights.

We do not want and will not live under the yoke of those who desecrate the exploits of our great-grandfathers, who fought for our freedom and honor. These people denigrate the bright memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War. They call for killing young guys from Berkut and the police, not even sparing their families. This is anarchy, chaos and destruction.

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich! We ask the Russian Federation, our Slavic brothers, not to let us be brought to our knees. We ask you to protect all Russian and Russian-speaking citizens of Nikolaev. Please protect our children and our families. Russia and Belarus are closer to us than Germany and America. Let everyone who wants to join the EU go there.

Help us preserve what we believe in, what our ancestors believed in - freedom! Russia, brothers, support us in this difficult time. We call for the reunification of the Slavic Russian lands, because together we are strong.”

After this appeal, the speaker called for signing it. People chanted “Nikolaev, Crimea, Russia!” Representatives of all parties and public organizations present at the meeting signed it. More than 5 thousand signatures of Nikolaev residents were collected. The letter was taken to Crimea, and you will no longer find it, but it contains the truth, and an appeal to Russia, which should be heard right now. 8 years after the Russian Spring, and after the signing of the Decree on the recognition of the Donbass republics, when the residents of the greater Novorossiya again look to Russia with hope.
