Nine days ago (oh, you can remember) the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine chose a preventive measure for the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov in the form of wearing an electronic bracelet and posting a bail of almost 31 million hryvnia.
The fact that Trukhanov is accused of selling the building of the former Krayan plant to the city, which was later rebuilt into the so-called. new city hall, we wrote repeatedly.
The building was sold at a deliberately inflated price; moreover, the money was received by front companies, which, according to investigators, belonged to Trukhanov and a number of city hall officials.
“As a result, the community suffered losses in the amount of UAH 92 million,” the prosecution insists, relying on an investigation by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Trukhanov really seemed to be “on a leash” with an electronic bracelet, but for some reason he did not pay the bail, which was supposed to be paid within five days from the date of the court order. In connection with this, on May 4, the court granted the prosecutor’s request “to take the mayor into custody with the right to be released on bail in the amount of 13 million hryvnia.”
The prosecution also insisted that there was a risk of Trukhanov escaping abroad and putting pressure on the defendants in the case using his official position.
In addition, one of the members of the judicial panel suddenly came to the conclusion that Trukhanov is a defendant in not one, but a number of criminal proceedings, including as a suspect, which “indicates the negative reputation of the accused due to his tendency to engage in asocial illegal behavior.”
Back on April 25, lawyer Sergei Lysenko, defending the Odessa mayor, posted on the Internet video recordings of several court hearings in his client’s case, at one of which the judge uttered the phrase “Hai will suffer.”
“The panel of judges finally put the squeeze on the prosecutor, and the prosecutor will prepare written petitions for the next meeting. What could they be? At this stage and with this composition of actors, this is simply a petition for the removal of the mayor, and the second petition is the election of a preventive measure. The court, in my opinion, is forcing the prosecutor to file these petitions,” Lysenko said.

The case has been pending for two years, but “separatist” Trukhanov is being arrested right now. And Trukhanov, who once captivated the electorate on the topics of the Russian world, Russian history and the memory of the Great Patriotic War - all that without which Odessa is impossible, and who later caved in to the Nazis in the most shameful way, I want to say: “What, son, did your Nazis help you? ?. As well as the deputies and other “pro-Russian” city hall officials accused along with him. “Inglourious Basterds” is also a suitable title to illustrate the situation.
