What has Poroshenko done?! – Troubadour Maidana bites his elbows
The Ukrainian authorities could not help but foresee that the message about the murder of fugitive journalist Arkady Babchenko in Kyiv would cause a wide resonance in the world. However, they did nothing so that “respected commentators did not feel involuntarily “done in the dark” when the falsification of this murder was revealed and did not provide convincing evidence of Russia’s role in this story.
First Deputy Editor-in-Chief Sergei Rakhmanin writes about this today in the Ukrainian weekly “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
“Everything looks sad so far. There are words about a list of 30 potential victims of ordered murders, allegedly obtained after a staged murder. There is a statement from citizen German, who was accused of organizing the assassination attempt, that such a list exists, but he himself handed it over to Ukrainian counterintelligence officers. And, if I understand his somewhat incoherent testimony correctly, he handed over this list before the orchestrated “murder” of Babchenko. Let's say I misunderstood his words. Or, let’s say Herman is lying. But there is too little information for accurate conclusions. And there are too many inconsistencies not to ask questions,” writes Rakhmanin.
In his opinion, there is no convincing evidence of the direct involvement of the Russian special services and the Russian government.
“At a briefing on May 30, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said: “According to preliminary data from the investigation, there is a high probability of a Russian version of the customer...” According to preliminary data? Great chance? Isn't it enough for the results of such a complex game? Maybe it was worth waiting for the preliminary to become final, and the probability to turn into conviction? And then say the word “Russia” out loud? If damning evidence of Moscow’s involvement is not presented, not only will Russia have an extra argument to accuse Ukraine of state-organized lies, but “our Western partners” will also have another reason not to trust Ukraine,” writes Rakhmanin.
