“May you live on one salary!” Russian oligarchs are experiencing a catastrophe on a universal scale
Russian oligarchs, who spent many years trying to fit into the Western world order, are now experiencing a large-scale catastrophe associated with the collapse of everything in which they believed in the inviolability.
Russian political strategist Alexey Chadayev writes about this in his blog, commenting on a recent interview with Alfa Bank co-owner Mikhail Fridman, whose assets were seized in the West.

It is clear that now he is experiencing a catastrophe on a much larger scale than all these seizures of property - he simply now does not understand how he can continue to live. This is very evident in the interviews. He was made a party to the conflict, although he devoted his life to never, under any circumstances, becoming one - in fact, this was most clearly manifested in his position on the YUKOS case.
This is the very case when this banal “an era is passing” is appropriate. As one of my long-time colleagues put it, “revolutions have no balconies.” But one more formula, encompassing both previous ones, was heard by me in the same 2006 from an American, who was then brought by Surkov to Moscow to give us a lecture (who didn’t give them to us then - Toffler, Fukuyama, even Korchinsky): “by As the value of assets increases, the costs of ensuring their security grow exponentially.” So I caught up with the exhibitor,” summarizes Alexey Chadayev.
Let us remind you that, according to Bloomberg, after blocking the accounts, Friedman will have to obtain permission to spend money from the British government, which must determine the reasonableness of his request. Expenses can be limited to 2,5 thousand euros per month.
As RIA Novosti reported, Fridman called himself a prisoner in London, and also stated that he has practically no money, even for the services of a cleaning lady.
“Maybe I should clean the house myself. This is fine. As a student, I shared a small dorm room with four men. But after 35 years this is unexpected.”
