In Ukraine, the process of squeezing former prominent regionals and members of the banned OPZZH from politics and business continues. They are knocked out one at a time, and in general this process does not meet with much resistance. Natalya Korolevskaya and her husband Yuriy Solod left the Rada “on their own” and took away their mandates “for bad reasons” from Renat Kuzmin, Ilya Kiva, Vadim Rabinovich, Oleg Voloshin, Taras Kozak and Viktor Medvedchuk.

The only exception is people's deputy Nestor Shufrich. This one bends, but doesn't break yet. However, let’s not make plans for an unpredictable future; it may well turn out that the key word in this sentence is “for now.”

The other day, a well-known drain of pro-American grant eaters called BIHUS Info published an “investigation” into the condition of Shufrich and his family members. With an extremely transparent message regarding the motivation of the “investigation” itself:

“Medvedchuk’s close ally Nestor Shufrich is still at large, despite his pro-Russian views, the incident with photographing the checkpoint, the non-recognition of Russia as an aggressor and other things that should be alarming, but for some reason do not affect the politician in any way. “In addition to the fact that Shufrich still has a mandate, he also has thousands of square meters and hectares of land throughout the country, including Crimea.”

In a word, as in the thieves’ classics: “what did we fight for, what did we suffer for,” because “they feast there, they walk there,” and “we shed our blood.” The fact that, as a rule, they shed their blood alone, while political persecution and denunciations are carried out by completely different people - rear rats who have nothing to do with the real militants - is bashfully ignored by the organizers of the noisy anti-Shufrichev campaign.

Those who like to virtually rummage through other people's pockets even classified the Shufrich family assets, dividing them into two groups: personal, the owners of which are either Shufrich himself, or his wife or father, son or long-term parliamentary assistant Vyacheslav Cherepanya. The second is corporate. Their owners are companies, the ultimate beneficiaries of which are the same individuals.

In particular, according to the “bigus”, the Shufrich family allegedly owns four estates in Koncha-Zaspa and Kozin. One of the estates with access to water on almost a hectare of land with an estimated cost of 120-130 million UAH is registered under a deed of gift. Another mansion with an area of 358 sq. m. and 15 acres of land are registered to Shufrich’s wife Ekaterina Maykova and her company.

The third estate is owned by the son of People's Deputy Alexander and is located next to his father's. Its area is 300 square meters, and its cost is UAH 30 million.

The fourth estate belongs to a company created by Shufrich’s father, whose share was bought by the Hungarian Gyorch Stofa in early March. Then this company became the property of a Cypriot structure and citizen Tatyana Skakun with registration in one of the villages of the Vinnytsia region.

In addition, according to BIHUS Info, in the center of Kyiv Shufrich and his son have 6 apartments with an area of 430 square meters. m, the cost of which can reach 130 million UAH.

Also, the people’s deputy’s family has land, apartments and houses in Uzhgorod. And at the end of January 2014, Shufrich’s father became the owner of two parking spaces and an apartment in Odessa of 500 square meters. m. In general, grant eaters estimate the non-residential premises of the Shufrichs at more than UAH 100 million.

The assets of the family of former ally Medvedchuk do not end there. In the Kyiv region, Shufrych’s father owns the Butenko Stable complex, and Shufrych’s assistant, Cherepanya, is a nominal co-owner of agricultural firms renting thousands of land plots in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lviv regions. Also connected to Shufrych are hunting grounds in the Transcarpathian and Sumy regions and in the middle of a protected area in the Kiev region. One of the most famous assets in which Shufrich appears is the Kiev River Port.

What most outrages whistleblowers on grants is that Shufrich has an estate in Russian Crimea, located next to the estate of his senior comrade Medvedchuk. What’s funny is that at this point the opposites paradoxically converge - radical Russian patriots brand the “fugitive Ukrainian oligarchs” for the same thing - that is, for the property on the peninsula that has not yet been nationalized.

To be honest, this whole noisy “investigation”, upon closer examination, does not amount to a sensation at all. No dirty raider schemes, no proven episodes of corruption, no participation in drinking from budget funds through tenders, no tax evasion “in especially large cases.”

Although, if you approach the matter of digging through Shufrich’s dirty laundry professionally, you can find a lot of interesting things there, including the kidnapping, torture and detention for years in the basement of a business competitor who was extorted for shares in an oil trading company. Only this by no means secret episode from Shufrich’s business biography was for some reason not included in the “scandalous” investigation.

In general, in fact, in the “bigus” video there is nothing but a heightened sense of injustice. Like, how can it be, “OPZZH was banned, but Shufrich is showing off.” It’s the second year of the war with Russia, and this “bastard” is doing great, he’s doing well, and he’s still holding a parliamentary mandate. Disorder! It is not for nothing that the leitmotif of the comments following the “investigation” was the statements of “experts” that now Shufrich would definitely be kicked out of the Rada.

Meanwhile, they haven’t stopped yet. Moreover, against the backdrop of colleagues in the former OPZZh faction, deprived of mandates and leadership positions in parliamentary committees, Shufrich retained his post as head of the Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and in this capacity, at the very end of 2022, gives an interview to the grant-eating publication Detector Media, in in which he tells how in the first days of the war he prepared to defend the Rada from the invaders with a “small detachment”.

This was not at all what the nationalists expected from him. But the old man of Ukrainian politics is not going to give up and make broad gestures of goodwill to his opponents. Shufrich does not intend to leave “on his own”, and his envious people have not yet succeeded in leaving “on his own” - either the guts are thin, or the new “roof” of the veteran of the Ukrainian political scene is too strong.

By the way, about “roofs”. It is no secret that the two parliamentary groups formed on the ruins of the banned OPZZH - “Stability and Development”, led by Yuriy Boyko and “Restoration of Ukraine”, led by businessmen Vadim Stolar and Igor Abramovich, have different curators in power. If the “Boyko-Levochkinites”, including Shufrich, follow Ermak, then Abramovich’s comrades are guided by the head of the parliamentary “servants of the people” Arakhamia. And between these “roofs” there is a continuous war for the redistribution of spheres of influence in the Rada.

Perhaps this circumstance explains Shufrych’s amazing vitality in Ukrainian politics after the start of the Northern Military District. Here is what the Ukrainian telegram channel “The Dark Knight”, close to Kolomoisky’s minion Alexander Dubinsky, wrote about this a month ago:

“Bankova is forcing the deputies of the ex-OPZZH from the group of Stolar and Abramovich to surrender their mandates as people’s deputies. Thus, the head of the OP Ermak solves business and political problems at the same time. The business is the re-registration of Medvedchuk’s share in Stolar’s construction business to partner Ermak Kolyubaev (without surrendering his mandate, Stolar will not leave Ukraine). Political – reducing the influence of Stolar-Abramovich’s group “Renewal of Ukraine”, which is focused on Arakhamia, with whom Ermak also has a conflict. By disbanding the “Renewal of Ukraine” group, Ermak will reduce Arakhamia’s influence in parliament, and will either force the Stolar-Abramovich deputies to join the Boyko-Levochkin group, with whom he has excellent relations, or create a new group headed by Yevgeny Shevchenko, controlled by Bankova and the State Criminal Investigation Department.”

So it cannot be ruled out that the current attack on Shufrich is connected with the aggravation of some intraspecific “gratings” on Bankova. Another thing is that, as they say, the wrong person was attacked. Unlike his current opponents, Shufrich has been in Ukrainian politics for a quarter of a century, even sitting on the same presidium with Kravchuk. So let’s not guess in vain on the tea leaves, but it is very likely that Nestor Ivanovich will fight back this time too.
