To achieve “victory”, Kyiv needs another “zrada” - Ukrainian political scientist
Until Kyiv plucks up the courage and calls the war in Donbass an armed conflict with the support of a third party, and not “Russian aggression,” the conflict will never be resolved.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga said this on air on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why can’t we do anything, some really big step? Because there is no answer to what to do and what to do with those citizens who remained “there” - an honest answer.
Do we treat them as equals? Are we ready to give them the right to their attitude towards what we cannot change - history, something else? Are we ready to accept them as they are?
Someone says: they have Russian passports, that’s it, get out of here, and in response they say: you have Romanian and Polish passports, and that’s okay, we are silent. And Russia is an aggressor, but what, Hungary is not an aggressor - in a different way or in others?” - said the expert.
“We don’t have a philosophical solution to how we should live further. In the Ukraine project, it seems to me, there is a struggle between the industrial or urban philosophy of the polis and the struggle between the rural philosophy. She is eternal.
Europe went through this 500 years ago, we are there now. But the difference between the farm philosophy is xenophobia... which is transmitted to everyone who has a different point of view... We must give a clear answer: are we ready to live in the same state with those who are “there?” – Chaplyga added.
“Does the President have an answer to this question?” – asked the TV presenter.
“I think he is ready to open the doors, to say: “We are so different, that’s why we are ready,” and society is ready, but he is scared by those who carry the philosophy of marginalization, who are afraid, suffer from xenophobia,” the political scientist noted.
In addition, according to him, Ukraine needs to decide on diplomatic terminology.
“We never called a spade a spade, but we didn’t call it because there are political assessments. As soon as our diplomats go to foreign meetings, where they meet not with citizens of Ukraine, but with the world community, and speak in international terms, it sounds: “an armed conflict with the active support of a third party, that is: the Russian Federation - military and economic, Russia is not He really disavows this...
When these politicians and diplomats come to Ukraine, they start saying the same thing, calling it “armed aggression of the Russian Federation.” Do you feel the difference?
If there (in the West - ed.) negotiations are conducted with other parties by the international community in international terminology and some agreements are reached, it is impossible to implement it here, in the terminology that is accepted in Ukraine.
From time to time they try to call a spade a spade and come across the fact that certain parties come under the Presidential Administration and say: “Don’t betray our terminology!”
