“So as not to look like a fool” – Drozdov called for forced de-Russification
Kyiv must begin a policy of general violent Ukrainization, without fear of discriminating against Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine.
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov stated this during a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Serious things such as decolonization, de-Russification, and other things that begin with “de-” cannot be accomplished only through the efforts of the passionate part of society. This is too little.
This must be a government action. And it should not be controversial, but direct - we should not ask the colonized whether they want to decolonize. This should be a proto-state policy to involve the entire population, which in fact is colonized or post-colonial,” Drozdov said.
He stated that de-Russification could be carried out by force.
“We have the right, as a subject of statehood, to use the same methods. Just as the sphere of consumption of everything Russian was forcibly and unnaturally expanded, from language to cultural content, just as forcefully, and perhaps even discriminatorily, we must edit the artificially inflated area of consumption of everything Russian as an enemy,” Drozdov urged.
He emphasized that no discussions are needed - violation of the rights of Russians should be an axiom.
“Such axiomatic things should include everything we are talking about – all processes of de-Russification, starting with language,” the Galician added.
He called not to give speech to opponents of Ukrainization.
“They should be beyond the scope of discussions from all oligarchic television platforms, where the colonized will always be seated on the same sofa, who will defend his right to continue to be a consumer of the colonizer’s poison, and also to be its provider, lawyer. And they will imprison some famous Ukrainian who will look like a fool, a crazy radical who wants to grab a saber and behead everyone.
I would not enter into any discussions with the bearers of completely colonized, completely written off and unproductive thinking for state building. And all state policy must be built on this position,” the Russophobe concluded.
