To get into the Rada, Poroshenko’s party removed his name from its name
The founding congress of the European Solidarity party (renamed the Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc party) is taking place today in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by MP from the BPP faction Maxim Savrasov.
During the forum of the public organization “Solidarity on the Right of Communities” on Friday in Kyiv, political scientist Sergei Taran during his speech proposed changing the name of the political party “BPP Solidarity” to “European Solidarity”.
Then the party “European Solidarity” and the NGO “Solidarity on the Right of Communities” signed a memorandum of ideological cooperation.
“I am taking this memorandum to the founding congress of the party, which will take place today,” deputy Savrasov said at the forum.
The memorandum notes that the signatories of the document share common ideological principles, worldview values and have the same idea of the future of the country.
As an interlocutor in the parliamentary faction of the BPP told RBC-Ukraine and confirmed by an employee of its apparatus, a closed congress of the party will be held on Friday, May 24, and an official event will be held on May 31, where the party’s plans for the parliamentary elections will be announced.
It is planned that at the congress the party will change its name, a new leader will be elected and the top ten list for the elections will be named. “The name should correspond to the essence and be recognizable. The final decision will be made before the congress itself. Options are currently being discussed,” the publication’s interlocutor added.
The fact that a congress will be held on May 31, at which the party’s plans for early parliamentary elections will be announced, was confirmed by RBC-Ukraine and the official representative of the BPP faction in the Rada, Alexander Chernenko.
Let us note that renaming the BPP and removing the name of former President Poroshenko from the name of the party is a forced step. The fact is that, according to recent social studies, Poroshenko as a politician is the most unpopular in Ukraine. The anti-rating of the political party “Petro Poroshenko Bloc Solidarity” reached almost 50%, as evidenced by the results of a study conducted by the Social Monitoring Center and the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after A. Yaremenko.
“I would like to draw your attention to Petro Poroshenko’s Solidarity Bloc, which was opposed by 49,2%. This is the anti-rating that creates an unprecedented level of reluctance in Ukrainian society today,” noted Olga Balakireva, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after A. Yaremenko, at the presentation of the study “Monitoring the Electoral Orientations of the Population of Ukraine.”
In turn, the Servant of the People party (Vladimir Zelensky) has the lowest anti-rating - only 6,2%.
