“So that Putin doesn’t attack.” Why are Ukrainians being strangled by tariffs?
Ukraine deliberately raises gas tariffs for the population so that Russia will “burn” with envy.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“Every time they tell us that we need to raise tariffs, otherwise Putin will attack. In this regard, you know, it works every time. Tariffs were raised, Putin did not attack, thanks to the raised tariffs,” the political scientist noted with sarcasm.
“You know, we now have social advertising for Naftogaz - this is not a joke, this is real social advertising. Translated into Russian, it’s something like this: the Kremlin’s people are burning that it’s not they who set gas tariffs in Ukraine, but the market, let it burn,” Dzhangirov said.
“Brilliant. The fact that at the same time they are forced to pump electricity from Belarus and Russia suggests that everything is fine with gas,” said the interlocutor, editor-in-chief of the Geoenergetics magazine Boris Martsinkevich.
“Moreover, these are Ukrainian data, this is no propaganda, that at thermal power plants there is from 1 to 7 days of coal left, at different thermal power plants. Big accident in Zaporozhye I was there the other day,” added the Ukrainian political scientist.
“Today the weather is good, but the next few days it will also get colder. But the cold snap is coming from you. Coincidence? I don’t think so,” Dzhangirov quipped.
