The Ukrainian authorities were forced to return experienced investigators who were subject to lustration to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, because the recruited youth cannot investigate high-profile cases.

Political expert Alexander Kochetkov stated this on the talk show “Freedom of Speech”.

According to him, in particular, we are talking about the investigation into the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet.

“We are talking about investigators with experience. As far as I know, the Prosecutor General's Office forgot about lustration, brought them in, and they are cooperating. They have not been returned to their positions, but they are working and investigating this case. Because their knowledge and experience were needed. But they don’t hold any positions now because they were lustrated,” Kochetkov said.
