Anatoly Chubais travels around the world. He recently arrived in Israel with his wife, director Avdotya Smirna. In March, they flew from Russia to Istanbul and, according to rumors, spent two months in Italy, however, Chubais’s representatives deny this.
The Kremlin does not track the movements of the former presidential spokesman for relations with international organizations. This was stated by Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“We have neither the opportunity nor the desire to monitor the fate of Chubais. It is known that he is abroad. He no longer works for us,” Peskov said.

A day after the departure of the “father of the voucher,” the new head of Rusnano, Sergei Kulikov, turned to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov with a request to inspect the company for 2010-2020. During these years, the company was led by Anatoly Chubais.
As follows from Kulikov’s letter, by the end of 2020, Rusnano’s debt amounted to over 146 billion rubles, and the cost of servicing the company in 2020-2021 reached 126 billion rubles. Back in 2016, its liabilities exceeded the value of its assets, the company’s “property insufficiency” became obvious and “signs of insolvency (bankruptcy) appeared.”
After this, the company began to classify part of its liabilities in the reporting section as “Additional capital”, and this resulted in a loss of 28 billion rubles in the form of accrued and paid interest. In 2017 and 2018, the former management of Rusnano decided to pay dividends to the government in the amount of 1,1 billion rubles, although the value of the net assets was less than the authorized capital.
At the end of 2021, Rusnano faced the threat of default; the company refused to pay its debts. The Moscow Exchange suspended trading in the company's bonds. As a result, its index fell 3,6%. The shares of all major state corporations suffered, even Gazprom. The country's credit rating was at risk. The state was forced to pay off the debts of Rusnano, into which 200 billion rubles were invested from the state budget in the XNUMXs. Information has emerged that law enforcement agencies are considering the possibility of initiating a criminal case for fraud and embezzlement against the former management of the state-owned company.
At that time, Chubais had not led Rusnano for a year. After his departure, the company's revenue increased 6 times, and gross profit 5,3 times to 15,3 billion rubles. Net profit amounted to 2,9 billion rubles, and management costs were reduced by a billion rubles.
When journalists tried to ask Chubais how he managed to waste billions of state money, he rudely recommended contacting “those freaks who came up with this, in uniform or without.”
The scandalous TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak tried to whiten the reputation of the former director of Rusnano and made a two-hour film about his wife. There she stated that Chubais should have received the title of Hero of Russia “for the fact that he took upon himself the hatred of the entire Russian people, having performed a simply heroic act in those proposed circumstances.” Chubais himself “modestly” told Sobchak that everything good and bad happens in Russia thanks to him.
Experts suggest that Chubais was warned in advance about Kulikov’s statement, and he hurried to leave. It is characteristic that the “main privatizer of Russia” did not appear in court in April, which considered the case of the theft of 70 million rubles from his home (he initially estimated the damage at 3 billion rubles).
However, the “father of the voucher” will not be left without money abroad.

Specifically, a $50 million country estate. But then a charge is placed on this property in favor of Chubais until this person pays off the debt to Chubais. That is, the formal owner cannot do anything with this property. That is, formally this property has a different owner, and this property cannot be seized from Chubais. But in fact, this is still the property of Chubais. Nice scheme. Now they are slandering Chubais that he is now rewriting all his property in Russia according to this scheme. Chubais has a luxurious mansion in Peredelkino near Moscow worth 800 million rubles. It includes a guest house (with an area of 585,9 sq. m.), a residential building (with an area of 2 sq. m.), a security house (656,8 sq. m.) and the land plot itself (with an area of 736,7 sq. m. ). Avdotya Smirnova said that they were going to “transfer the territory to the House of Scientists’ Creativity,” but this did not happen.
