Chubais was summoned to court
The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow summoned Anatoly Chubais for questioning in the case of the theft of his property.
This was stated by the lawyer of one of the defendants in the case, Vyacheslav Makarov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Makarov, so far the defendants have not confessed and declare their non-involvement in this case.
It was previously reported that in 2017, a criminal case was opened regarding the theft of property from Anatoly Chubais, which was located in a residential complex located in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. Chubais estimated the amount of damage at 3 billion rubles. Later, the victim reduced the amount to 70 million rubles.
At the end of March, Anatoly Chubais resigned from his post as special representative of the Russian President for sustainable development and left for Turkey.
Last November, the state corporation Rusnano, which was previously headed by Chubais, announced its default, although 200 billion rubles from the state budget were invested in it in the XNUMXs. Now the state has again taken upon itself to guarantee the debts of Rusnano, although law enforcement agencies were considering the possibility of initiating a criminal case for fraud and embezzlement against the former management of the state-owned company. The media wrote that the corporation exorbitantly inflated employee salaries and created subsidiaries through which it transferred funds to offshore companies.
Chubais is one of the few Russian officials who was not subject to Western sanctions.
