Simferopol, May 06 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, head of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov does not rule out his arrest and the arrest of his comrades on the eve of events on May 18 - the 70th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars.

The politician stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication Zerkalo Nedeli.
According to Chubarov, today he does not fully understand the ultimate goal that the law enforcement agencies of Crimea are pursuing by initiating a criminal case against him under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the events of May 3.
“A very wide range of tasks can be assigned. Starting from direct blackmail, ending with far-reaching plans regarding the Crimean Tatars as a whole. I would not like to think now without having in my hands a resolution to initiate a criminal case. However, I do not exclude my detention in the coming days with subsequent arrest. And not only me,” predicts the head of the Majlis.
In his opinion, Moscow and Simferopol have little understanding of the nature of the national movement of the Crimean Tatars.
“All those actions that have taken place in recent days, including the ban on Mustafa Dzhemilev’s entry into Crimea, a ban, I note, which no one can refute or confirm with an official document - all these actions recently show that in relation to the Crimean Tatars There are chaotic movements and it is very difficult to say now what their purpose is. You can make various forecasts, including the most unacceptable for the Crimean Tatars,” Chubarov noted.
He added that to date, the Majlis has not received any response from the Simferopol City Executive Committee to its notification of holding mourning events on May 18.
Today the Mejlis must consider a program of events, which, Refat Chubarov emphasized, will be carried out under any circumstances.
