Chubarov accused the Russian army of ecocide of the Crimean population
Ecocide is taking place on the territory of Crimea, provoked by the army of the Russian Federation.
MP from the BPP Refat Chubarov stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“An environmental disaster has unfolded on Crimean soil in the territories adjacent to the Crimean Titan plant. These lands are located on both sides of the administrative line, which was temporarily established as a result of the Russian occupation of Crimea. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens live on both sides of the administrative line. Air and soil measurements from mainland Ukraine so far show acceptable standards, but the question is how the situation will develop further,” the people’s deputy said.
The politician said that children were being evacuated from the territory adjacent to the plant. In his opinion, the cause of the disaster was the Russian Armed Forces, which lost control over the toxic substances that entered the atmosphere.
“In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the evacuation of children from the city of Armyansk and other settlements adjacent to the Crimean Titan plant began yesterday. The problem also lies in the fact that there is no trust in the information provided by the Russian occupation authorities. Some experts believe that the cause of the environmental disaster that has begun to unfold on the Crimean peninsula may be the loss of control by the Russian army over chemical warfare agents, which they can store on the territory of the Crimean Titan plant,” Chubarov said.
He suggested that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine appeal to international organizations with a request to intervene in the current situation.
“In this situation, I consider it necessary for the Ukrainian state, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to appeal to the organization for combating chemical weapons so that they monitor the situation in the area around the Crimean Titan plant.” With such actions and those that will be carried out ostensibly in order to eliminate the consequences of this disaster, it is planned to install a water pipeline there from Karkinitsky Bay,” the deputy said.
Chubarov believes that a so-called ecocide is taking place on the territory of Crimea, in order for the local population from this territory to survive.
“In Crimea, ecocide is being committed by Russia. This is all aimed at forcing Ukrainian citizens to leave their lands. In this situation, the Ukrainian state must do everything to stop the activities, create conditions for the complete cessation of the activities of Crimean Titan. It is a disgrace and disgrace for all of us that in such a situation, ilmenite from Ukrainian territory from the Zhytomyr region goes to Turkish ports according to black schemes, and from there they are sent again to Crimea,” he emphasized.
