Ukrainian people's deputy and fugitive head of the Crimean Tatar Majlis Refat Chubarov called the opening of the television and radio communication tower on Chongar “one of the steps in the de-occupation of Crimea.”

Chubarov stated this in an interview with the Kyiv agency UNN.
“Yes, this is a step towards de-occupation, but it is very late. This must have been literally the first six months, a year, as soon as we realized that Crimea was temporarily cut off from mainland Ukraine. It must be clear to people that every day we provide them with reasons to strengthen their faith, so that they are confident that Crimea will return, and this can primarily be done through television and radio communications,” Chubarov said.
Let us recall, as “PolitNavigator” already reported, Ukrainian officials from Kyiv solemnly opened a 150-meter television tower for propaganda broadcasting to Crimea in Chongar. From this TV tower, broadcasting began to the territory of the southern regions of the Kherson region and part of Crimea to its southern coast. From this tower it is also possible to broadcast 32 digital television channels. The range of the possible signal is 120-130 km for radio and 80 km for reliable reception, and 50-60 km for television.
The Ukrainian authorities plan to build a second such television and radio tower in the Kherson region.
