The head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Refat Chubarov, admitted that the action he initiated to blockade the peninsula could provoke an offensive by the Russian army to Tiraspol.
He said this on the air of “First YuA”.

“We thought seriously about this... we had fears that the Russian army, on our Crimean Tatar shoulders, could enter the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to provide water from the Kakhovka reservoir in order to close this arc to Tiraspol. This possibility seemed very real to us,” Chubarov said.
