Ukraine cannot completely cut off power to Crimea, because in this case it risks turning off the lights in a number of its regions. People's Deputy and one of the initiators of the blockade of Crimea Refat Chubarov stated this on the air of the Left Bank talk show.

According to him, if the peninsula is disconnected, Russia will certainly introduce retaliatory measures and cut off power to Ukraine.

“We've had this interconnected energy system for decades. Almost all of it was directed against Ukraine. Tomorrow such a situation may arise; in order for us to survive, we will need to introduce permanent rolling blackouts. Some areas will simply be in darkness, and some will come to their senses at this time. And it will be like this for many months. Is Ukrainian society ready for this or not?” Chubarov said.
