Chubarov laments: the West will react to the elections in Crimea incorrectly
Members of the Mejlis are worried that the West will refuse to recognize the presidential elections of the Russian Federation as illegitimate due to the fact that the Russian peninsula as a subject of the Russian Federation will participate in them. The leader of the “Majlis” banned in the Russian Federation, Verkhovna Rada deputy Refat Chubarov, stated this on Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, in Ukraine they must certainly call the next president of the Russian Federation illegitimate, as was done in the case of the State Duma.

“Our belief that the entire Duma was illegitimate because they illegally extended elections to the occupied Crimea was logical, but to some extent it allowed our partners in the West to somehow justify the legitimacy of those deputies who were not elected in Crimea. They say that they had nothing to do with Crimea and then all our partners accepted this position - those people who were illegally elected in Crimea are not recognized anywhere, they are not allowed to participate in any international platform... But when we talk about the election of the president, then here our partners simply don’t have the courage to take the position we want... But I think that our state, parliament needs to declare such a position,” Chubarov said.
