Chubarov: Supporters of Ukraine in Crimea are ready to suffer without water in the hope that things will be even worse for Russia
Ukrainian patriots in Crimea are ready to suffer because of the water blockade imposed by the Kiev peninsula, since they are strengthened by the belief that blocking the water creates enormous difficulties for Russia and brings closer the return of Crimea to the control of independent forces.
The leader of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Refat Chubarov, stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s very interesting to know what their attitude is (among the Crimeans - ed.) in particular to the problem of water supply from Ukraine? Because, as usual, this can also be a topic of speculation in relation to Ukraine - in reality, these are your people, and you are depriving them, among other things, of adequate water supply,” the question was asked.
“I cannot say that all people are of the same opinion. Despite the fact that the Russian occupiers always create such people, find them, and educate them. Let’s say, their last attempt to hold a so-called virtual meeting of the Security Council, when they brought in from Crimea – this is the Ukrainian part for you, this is the Crimean Tatar part, showed that the Russians are very manipulative and speculate on such approaches,” Chubarov “safeguarded himself” in advance .
“But the overwhelming majority, if I’m talking about the Crimean Tatars, the absolute majority of the Crimean Tatars understand that any problems, no matter what they experience, have one source of origin - this is occupation. And people understand that for de-occupation they need to endure everything that happens to them,” the Mejlis member assured.
