“...as Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine Ozgun Taluyu said, the Turkish delegation” does not include representatives of the official authorities of Turkey.
It is also known that Turkish citizens who planned to visit Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, bypassing the established rules for entry and exit to the territory of Ukraine, were warned in advance by the Turkish Ambassador in Moscow about the illegality of such a trip and its possible consequences,” the Mejlis member assures.
“The trip to the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea by a group of Turkish citizens, planned and carried out under the control of Russian special services, is characterized as another attempt by the Russian Federation to misinform the international community and cause mistrust between the Ukrainian and Turkish peoples.
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people highly appreciates the consistent and unchanging position of the Republic of Turkey, which consists in confirming the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
At the same time, we call on the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine to begin the procedure of criminal prosecution of all foreign persons entering the territory of Crimea temporarily occupied by Russia without the consent of the Ukrainian side and bypassing the rules established by law,” writes Chubarov.
