The head of the Mejlis, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, Refat Chubarov, told the Kyiv publication Den.
“The essence and purpose of this provocation is to explode the situation in Crimea on the part of the authorities, who through these actions commit violations of human rights, in particular the right to free movement,” the politician noted.
“Under such pressure from the authorities, no one will let us hold a referendum. However, this should be the basis for maximum attention to the problem of the Crimean Tatars from all participants in the current political processes, especially from the international community. And especially, given the complexity of the events that are now taking place between Ukraine and Russia, the problem of the Crimean Tatar people and Crimea in general should be in the spotlight,” says Refat Chubarov.
