This caused the indignation of the head of the Majlis, Refat Chubarov.
“Are you going to extend the agreement while dozens of Crimean Tatars are in the dungeons of the FSB? You are responsible for calling Crimea a subject of the Russian Federation!” – he recalled the text of the agreement, where the peninsula appears as the “Crimean Federal District”.
“The decision to supply electricity to Crimea was the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. And I will again submit this agreement for continuation. To return this territory to Ukraine, we must treat the ordinary people who live there adequately. People are in hospitals, in elevators... And military garrisons all have generators,” Demichishin explained to the indignant shouts of Chubarov from the spot.
