Chubarov is furious: Mejlis extremists will not be changed
During the upcoming exchange of detainees between Ukraine and Russia, there will be no Majlis extremists on the lists.
The leader of the Mejlis group banned in the Russian Federation, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Refat Chubarov, stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chubarov, by agreeing to an exchange without members of the Mejlis, the Ukrainian government is helping to strengthen Russia in Crimea.
“As you understand, Crimean Tatars imprisoned in Russian prisons cannot be exchanged, because the Russian occupiers declared all its inhabitants, citizens of Ukraine, their citizens from the moment they captured Crimea. And the Ukrainian government, agreeing with any formats for the exchange/release of its citizens held hostage in Russia, but without the Crimean Tatars, in fact only encourages the aggressor country in its attempts to gain a foothold in the temporarily occupied Crimea,” Chubarov said.
Previously, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin reported that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine regarding the mutual exchange of detainees are reaching the final stage.
