Kyiv, December 23 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The conflict in Ukraine should end with the transfer of Crimea to Ukrainian jurisdiction. The leader of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Refat Chubarov, stated this on TV channel 112.

According to him, opinions are increasingly being heard from European politicians that it is necessary to seek a compromise on Crimea.
“The war began with the occupation of Crimea and it must end with the deoccupation of Crimea. All other possible formats, which are already being felt both from Russia and from some European politicians, messages regarding a possible compromise on Crimea, cannot exist, because they can be very sensitive for Europe itself,” Chubarov said.
However, he admitted that Ukraine will not be able to return Crimea by military means. The issue of Crimea can only be considered diplomatically by applying sanctions on Russia, the politician said.
“Nobody is talking about military ways to return Crimea. But everyone says and does things so that Russia is forced to enter into the legal formats that it has violated. The processes of economic development in Russia are moving in such a direction, which gives us hope that the leadership of the Russian Federation will not hold this line for so long,” Chubarov states.
