Since the beginning of September 2016, about 3 thousand military personnel and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who took part in the so-called “ATO” were granted combat status.

This was announced by the speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Gutsulyak.

“Thus, as of today, 177 thousand 655 military personnel and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received the status of combatants,” he said.

Dmitry Gutsulyak informed that this month 135 ATO participants received departmental awards and valuable gifts from the Ministry of Defense.

“Since the beginning of the operation in Donbass, 11 of its participants have been awarded state awards and over 177 have received insignia from the Ministry of Defense,” he says.
