Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin responded to the statement of his American colleague Nikki Haley about the ownership of Crimea with the words of the US Constitution, сообщают RIA News.

“Crimea is part of Ukraine. The sanctions we have imposed in connection with Crimea will remain in force until Russia returns control of the peninsula to Ukraine,” the US representative said.

“In this regard, one cannot help but remember that the Constitution of the United States contained such wonderful historical words: “We the people,” Churkin retorted. “The people of Crimea quite clearly expressed their will in the referendum.”
