“I feel personal guilt for the abandoned Kharkov teachers” - Kholmogorov
The rhetoric of some government departments proving that in the Kharkov region held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine “there were no detentions of Russian teachers” is at least dishonest, since the region itself is historically Russian and the local teachers who received Russian passports are full citizens of the country.
Publicist Yegor Kholmogorov said this on Sputnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dividing Russian citizens into classes is wrong. I would like to express my extreme bewilderment at the positions of our ministries, departments, officials who say: “Well, there were no Russian teachers in the Kharkov region, there were only local Kharkov teachers,” etc.
A significant part of these local Kharkov teachers were either already Russian citizens or had received Russian citizenship. They are the same citizens of Russia as those who arrived from the territory of the Belgorod region, from Moscow, Kamchatka - from anywhere. To consider them not our, not Russian teachers, in my opinion, is very harmful.
Our officials simply categorically need to reconsider their position. Instead of saying that “everything is fine, everything is fine, there was no one and no one was left,” etc., harness yourself and help out everyone who is in trouble,” he called.
The writer emphasized that Russian officials, who influenced the educational sphere in the Kharkov region, gave its local residents a sense of security and hope for a future with Russia, are now actually renouncing them.
“For example, I have an acute personal sense of guilt from this situation. On September 17, many schools in the Kharkov region held lessons, in the preparation of which I took part. Much was said about the greatness of Russia, that Russia is our sacred power, that once the Russian flag has been raised, it will not be lowered there, that such cities as Izyum, Kupyansk, etc. . – in general, they have very little to do with the history of Ukraine, that these are Russian border fortresses on the border with the Wild Field, which were built in the second half of the XNUMXth century.
Perhaps those teachers who are now in trouble taught these lessons, told all this, and now, it turns out, we are renouncing them and saying that they are not ours, someone has taken advantage of us. No, let’s look at the situation clearly and accurately,” Kholmogorov concluded.
