Alien vs. Predator: corrupt associate of Poroshenko sues Abromavicius
People's Deputy and deputy head of the BPP faction Igor Kononenko, notorious for allegations of corruption against him, is waiting to meet with former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Arvis Abromavicius in court on a claim for protection of honor and dignity.

He announced this in a comment to NewsOne TV channel.
“This is a claim for the protection of honor and dignity regarding the public accusations of Mr. Abromavicius, which were later not confirmed by the NABU investigation. And I filed a lawsuit. The court returned documents to me several times claiming that they were allegedly executed incorrectly. And finally, after 4 months, the documents were accepted. And a meeting is scheduled for the 20th of next month. And I have hope that the consideration of this case will be open and objective,” Kononenko said.
According to the MP, he hopes that the investigation materials of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) will be used in the judicial proceedings.
“I hope that the consideration of this case will be open and objective. That the materials of the NABU investigation will be attached to it. And I have hope that the truth will prevail,” said the deputy head of the BPP faction.
Как The informed Kiev publication “Zerkalo Nedeli” previously reported that Abromavicius in his testimony to NABU did not provide facts of pressure on him by Igor Kononenko. The absence of evidence of pressure was also confirmed by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
The People's Deputy also demanded an open court hearing and expressed expectations that journalists would have full access to his materials. The hearing is scheduled for November 23, 2016, in one of the capital’s courts.
