Donetsk, October 12 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – The socio-political movement “Novorossiya”, which is headed by social activist Pavel Gubarev, one of the leaders of the initial stage of the Russian Spring in Donbass, will be denied registration and participation in the upcoming elections in the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.

This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission Roman Lyagin at today's press conference.
According to him, Gubarev’s organization is one of two that have submitted applications to participate in the elections.
“Now the public organization “Donetsk Republic” is at the stage of collecting signatures. On the 4th of this month, a decision was made to register as a subject and participant in the election campaign. A conference was held to nominate a republican list of candidates, and all the necessary documents were submitted to the Central Election Commission, and now a check is underway at the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” Lyagin said, answering the question of how many electoral associations have already notified of their participation in the elections.
“The second organization that submitted documents, the second entity, was the socio-political movement Novorossiya. On the 9th, a decision was made to refuse registration as a public organization due to the lack of notification of the founding conference. Their conference supposedly took place, but members of the Central Election Commission were not present at their conference, and we will refuse registration to the socio-political movement “Novorossiya,” said the chairman of the DPR Central Election Commission.
