This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” Roman Lyagin.
“We passed the 30% bar a long time ago – about 40 minutes or an hour ago. Now the numbers are different, but it will be possible to announce them more accurately no earlier than 12:00 local time. We accumulate information from the districts,” he said, as quoted by the Novorossiya portal.
“The problem for us is that two territorial commissions have now dropped out of the process - these are Krasny Liman and the Krasnolimansky district - today there is no connection with them, there are active hostilities there. This is the very north of the Donetsk region on the border with the Kharkov region,” Lyagin said in a comment to reporters.
According to Lyagin, there is extreme voter activity at the polling stations and the referendum organizers expect that more than half of the voters will vote before 14.00 p.m.
In the Luhansk region, where a referendum on regional self-determination is also being held, turnout in the first two hours after the opening of polling stations was about 20%.
Let us remind you that today referendums on regional self-determination started in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. According to Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, in the Donetsk region the highest turnout is observed in Mariupol and Slavyansk.
