Scandalous Moldovan politician intends to picket the Russian Embassy
The mayor of the Moldovan city of Balti, the scandalous Moldovan politician Renato Usatii, whose arrest warrant was issued on July 24 by the Tverskoy Court of Moscow, intends to picket the Russian Embassy in Chisinau together with his supporters.
Usatii stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to convey the truth, and in order for the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Presidential Administration to hear us, my colleagues proposed yesterday to start protests in front of the Russian embassy in the Republic of Moldova. I repeat once again: we will go to the Russian embassy not because we are voicing complaints to the country. With these actions we want to demand an objective investigation into all this nonsense that has been fabricated against me,” Usatii said.
He claims that the criminal case against him was fabricated by the President of Moldova Igor Dodon, whose business partner is the son of the former Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Chaika, and “three alcoholics from the FSB, two of whom are schizophrenics.” Usatii stated that preparations were being made for his abduction or illegal detention in a third country.
Usatii believes that Dodon is afraid of him as a potential competitor in the upcoming presidential elections. However, according to the latest opinion poll published today, 46% are ready to vote for the current president, and less than 7% are ready to vote for the mayor of Balti.
In April, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation charged Usatii with participation in a criminal community, which was called the “Moldavian Landormat” in the Russian press. Thanks to this scheme, $18 billion was withdrawn from Russia.
