Colonel Cassad: “Big Novorossiya was buried in the spring” (VIDEO)

"Navigator": Why did Igor Strelkov leave?

Colonel Cassad: “Strelkov interfered with the negotiations. When they entered the peacekeeping track, Strelkov with his irreconcilable position began to interfere. From Moscow they pressed through humanitarian aid, closing the one that went to Strelkov, and he was forced to leave. Firstly, so as not to expose our troops, who depended on this humanitarian aid. And, in fact, he opened the way for negotiations, which ended with the signing of a truce on September 5.

Navigator: What is the future of the Novorossiya project?

Colonel Cassad: Novorossiya will exist as an unrecognized state, there is no doubt about it. There is no longer a military way to destroy it. Even if it wants to, Kyiv will no longer be able to destroy Novorossiya by military means. What will the boundaries be? The minimum option is the borders of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

"Navigator": Is a militia campaign against Kyiv possible?

Colonel Cassad: In this situation, this is still an unlikely option, but not excluded under certain circumstances.

"Navigator": What is the Ukrainian side doing under the terms of the truce?

Colonel Cassad: Concentrates troops, closes the gap between Mariupol and Donetsk, which arose after the Ilovaisk cauldron. Troops are gathering in Debaltsevo, Avdeevka - preparations are being made to resume the offensive under new conditions. In fact, they are using the truce to prepare for the next stage of the war.

Navigator: Does the Ukrainian side still have the advantage?

Colonel Cassad: In terms of people and equipment, the Ukrainian side has a 1,5-2 times superiority. But compared to what it was in June-July, the situation is improving in our favor.

Navigator: Is it possible to negotiate with Petro Poroshenko?

Colonel Cassad: From my point of view, there is no need to negotiate with Poroshenko, but rather to destroy this regime. But in practice, negotiations will, of course, take place.

Navigator: How do you see the future of Ukraine?

Colonel Cassad: The division of Ukraine - as a state it did not take place. It would be better if a pro-Russian Novorossiya arose on its territory, there were 4-5 more regions where they want to develop Ukrainianness, and there was independence for the Rusyns. This is a civilized partition on the model of Czechoslovakia. And trying to preserve it by force, as Bandera’s followers are imposing, is the path to war and major bloodshed.

Ukraine was created as a state that could not be friendly to Russia. Therefore, it is an illusion to believe that it can be pro-Russian. I doubt it will be accepted into Europe. Ukraine can only be used as a tool against Russia. Fight until the last Ukrainian, don’t care what happens to the economy. Europe already has Greece and Romania, who will feed Ukraine? There won't be enough money.

From the point of view of Russian interests, the existence of Ukraine is undesirable.

I have always advocated the separation of Crimea from Ukraine. The existence of Ukraine does not bother me at all.

"Navigator": The West and Russia have returned to the times of the Cold War?

Colonel Cassad: The conflict is already underway. Sanctions will be imposed despite the fact that Russia is making certain foreign policy concessions, hoping to avoid direct confrontation with the United States right now.

The West expects either complete capitulation or further significant concessions. Russia will have to either bend under this pressure or respond harshly. Ukraine is one of the fronts where a tough response is possible.

Russia officially declares that it is not a party to this war. But, to be honest, of course, it is a side, like the United States. The junta is subordinate to its masters.

Navigator: What consequences will there be for Russia if Novorossiya surrenders?

Colonel Cassad: If Russia completely cedes Novorossiya, then serious political upheavals are inevitable. People in the Kremlin and Lubyanka understand this. According to my information, Novorossiya will not be merged. But the big Novorossiya was most likely buried in the spring.

"Navigator": Is it possible to open a new front in Crimea?

Colonel Cassad:Everything has been resolved with the Crimean Tatars. The only problem is the radicals. There was Dzhemilev’s visit to Warsaw, where he met with Obama and Kerry, then Kolomoisky gave money to organize the Crimea punitive battalion. He suffered heavy losses near Ilovaisk. But they have agents in Crimea. By investing some money, they may try to develop some kind of underground in Crimea. They have a desire to organize a partisan movement in areas densely populated by Crimean Tatars. But the FSB is doing some work against them.

Navigator: What is the future for Kolomoisky?

Colonel Cassad: Kolomoisky has two options. Either during the civil war he will simply be slammed somewhere, or he will simply go to live out his life somewhere in Switzerland.
