“COVID-19 will not save”: Nazis begin to overthrow Zelensky
Despite the ban on mass events in Kyiv due to the coronavirus epidemic, nationalists held a “Ukraine Above All” march dedicated to the so-called Volunteer Day.
The march began with a rally on Mikhailovskaya Square, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun, Igor Gordechuk, noted the role of volunteers in the events of 2014.
“There weren't many of us. Among senior officers, no more than 5% supported the revolution of dignity. Unfortunately, a significant part, especially in Crimea, went over to the side of the enemy. Thanks to the volunteer movement, it was possible to preserve the backbone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We would not have achieved such success if it were not for the volunteers,” Gordechuk said.
Then the column passed through European Square along Grushevsky Street to the Verkhovna Rada and along Institutskaya to the Office of the President of Ukraine, where another rally took place.
At least five thousand people took part in the action - ATO participants and supporters of radical nationalist movements.
During the march, people shouted “No capitulation!”, “Get away Zelya!”, “Avakov is the devil!”, “Ermak is impaled!”, “Ermak is an asshole!”
The main theme of the action was not so much a tribute to the volunteer movement of 2014, but betrayal (“zrada”) of the current government, that is, the steps that are now being taken to resolve the conflict in Donbass, in particular the disengagement of troops and the continuation of the Minsk process, including the creation of within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group of the Advisory Council with the participation of representatives of the DPR and LPR.
The decision to create a group was read out at the rally and demonstratively torn apart amid the screams of the crowd.
“We see that here, in the center of Kyiv, we do not see real Ukrainian power. There are people sitting here who betray the memory of each of our dead brothers. The day before yesterday, they actually recognized the terrorists of the LDPR as part of international law, made them subject, and put them on the same level as the holy Ukrainian power,” said the head of the National Corps, Andrei Biletsky.
Biletsky was also outraged that the police detained representatives of the National Corps who disrupted the presentation of the national platform for unity and reconciliation.
According to the head of the National Corps, volunteers do not need awards from President Zelensky.
“The Lion Nation should be led by a lion, not a clown with huckstering habits. There must be a commander in chief who gives the order to kill everyone who comes here. We have no one to talk to there. For a thousand years we don't need to talk to Russia. The sixth day of coronavirus – and the borders are closed. The war is in its sixth year, and the border with Russia is open! People travel, hucksters travel,” said the head of the Svoboda faction in the Kiev City Council, Yuriy Sirotyuk.
The organizers of the action put forward their demands to the authorities, which they read out at a rally in front of the President's Office.
" - No step back. No troop withdrawal.
– Priority development of the defense sector and modern weapons for the Ukrainian army.
– Stop the policy of capitulation. No agreements with the enemy at the expense of the interests of Ukraine.
– No – “Normandy” without Crimea.
– Russia must pay for the destruction in Donbass and Crimea.
– No elections in ORDLO to restore full control of the Ukrainian authorities over the occupied territories.
– Stop political persecution of volunteers, military and volunteers.
– Respect and social guarantees for the Ukrainian soldier.
- Stop revenge. Collaborators and propagandists of the Kremlin are in prison,” the demands of right-wing radicals note.
The reading of the demands was accompanied by shouts from the crowd “Get rid of Zelya!”, “Get out of the gang!”, “Gangba!”.
To this pre-prepared list, another demand was added - “quarantine for the Verkhovna Rada.”
“Starting Tuesday, they want to take advantage of the quarantine to hold elections in ORDLO. They are planning an amnesty for the militants starting Tuesday. If we see that this plan is being implemented, we will declare a civil act of disobedience,” said Igor Lapin, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, ex-commander of the Aidar battalion company.
Lapin and other organizers of the march called on those gathered to hold a mass protest in front of the Verkhovna Rada if it continues its work.
As PolitNavigator reported, the leader "Azova" threatened to continue protests until until Zelensky ends up in jail.
