“Fuck you, you bastards!” – Grishkovets didn’t like Macron and the Crimean Bridge
Ukrainian border guards have taken possession of Aeroflot's base and are monitoring which Russian citizens visit Crimea.
This was stated in an interview with journalist Nadezhda Strelets by the famous Russian actor, director and writer Yevgeny Grishkovets, who was banned from entering Ukraine due to visiting the peninsula without the consent of Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Grishkovets believes that Russia will be able to ensure the development of Crimea in the coming years. True, he didn’t really like the bridge to the peninsula.
“It’s not very beautiful, the Russian Bridge in Vladivostok is much more beautiful. It's a really, really beautiful bridge. And from an engineering and architectural point of view, the Crimean Bridge is ugly, in my opinion. But Crimea is beautiful. In 20 years it will probably be very beautiful,” the writer said.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the hero of our time. I don’t know the others,” Grishkovets answered the question about the most influential person in the public consciousness.
“Well, maybe Dud? Do you know someone like that? – asked the presenter.
"I know. I haven't watched any of his interviews, but he is a man who has a disgusting voice and a very unpleasant appearance. But he’s great, with such an appearance and such a voice he has a huge audience, and he has some meaning, because a person with such negative charm can be with such a large audience - this is something unusual,” the writer said.
“He is one of the flagships of liberal thought, which is why he has such a large audience,” Sagittarius explained.
“The flagship of liberal thought is Alexey Navalny. One might say, practically the Jesus Christ of liberal thought. I haven't watched any. Neither one (Dud – ed.) nor the other (Navalny – ed.) is interesting to me,” Grishkovets objected.
At the same time, during the interview, he admitted that he risks criticizing not everyone in Russia. For example, I would prefer to avoid public statements about people such as the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
“If something comes to mind or there is some reason to say about Ramzan Kadyrov, I will be afraid,” the artist noted.
At the same time, Grishkovets does not like criticism of Russia from Western leaders.
“Only we can talk about what and how is happening in Russia. When all this happens in the world, when I see some fucking Macron or Theresa May, who, with lips white with anger, pronounces the name of my Motherland... And here live my wonderful children, the children of my friends, my friends live here, my wonderful colleagues, my parents were born and live here, and they pronounce the name of our Motherland with hatred. Well, how can you not be a patriot? Fuck you, you bastards, what do you understand about my life, what do you even understand?
Yes, I know both English and Belgian literature better than all of you. I was in Belgium, but they - we don’t have any literature. Come on, what about Charles de Coster, the wonderful poet Emile Verhaerne? They say no, we don't know. And I know and love your literature more than you, because I am a Russian person. I have enough mental strength and heart to love your literature, and Japanese, and American, and all kinds. But you don’t know my literature,” Grishkovets summed up.
