Vladimir Zelensky tried to refute the information that Vladimir Putin ignores the Ukrainian, since in the year after the Normandy Four summit he demonstrated his inability to resist the demands of nationalists and implement the agreements on the Minsk agreements and the granting of special status to Donbass.

In an interview with Focus magazine, Zelensky boasted that he could supposedly call the Russian leader at any time, who would “definitely talk to him,” but does not do this because there is no need.

“I can call him, he will definitely talk to me. There is no subject for conversation. If the delay in the meeting of advisers continues, I will definitely communicate with him. As the President of Ukraine, I must resolve all difficult issues with him. And if this helps stop the war faster, I should communicate with him. In addition, I believe that there should be both a dialogue, like in the Normandy format, and a direct dialogue. Because there are issues that we do not raise in the Normandy format - neither the issue of hostages in Russia or Crimea, nor the issue of Crimea. This format is purely about Donbass. Therefore, we must talk to him globally one-on-one,” Zelensky ranted.

He admitted that the agreements under the Minsk agreements will not be implemented by Kiev. “I believe that we cannot simply withdraw from the Minsk agreements. Because the Europeans can lift sanctions from Russia and representatives of ORDLO. But personally, I would go out. Now, sitting in the splits, you need to do something, get on your feet, otherwise you will move forward very slowly. That's why we said that we disagree with some points. And we will write down a detailed plan for ending the war,” Zelensky said.

The day before, political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky said that the Kremlin had already formed a skeptical attitude towards the current Ukrainian leadership.

“If Putin talked to Poroshenko as an adult scoundrel for quite a long time, knowing who he was, then there is simply no point in talking with this young fool. He can’t do anything,” Pogrebinsky said.
