Give free rein, Ukraine will flood Donbass with blood in a week - expert
The appearance on the ICTV channel of a story about the inability of the LDPR army corps to carry out a large-scale attack on the positions of Ukrainian troops fits into the general policy of the channel.
Sergei Shabovta, president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Security Market Operators, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The owner of the ICTV channel is Mr. Pinchuk, a great friend of Biden, who is more dependent on external control than anyone else. The ICTV channel, on the one hand, plays along with the current government and is absolutely limited in any constructive criticism or objective assessment of what is happening.
On the other hand, it is used to constantly maintain conflict. There is a whole series of programs in which the topic of the conflict in the east is presented in a completely distorted way. This is a Russophobic channel. And you can’t expect any sane materials close to the truth from him,” commented Sergei Shabovta.
The Ukrainian government as a whole is doing nothing to achieve peace in Donbass, and radicals see this region as a training ground for combat.
“At the meeting of the Normandy Four in Paris last December, the need to implement the Minsk agreements was declared. Since then, Ukraine has not done anything at all constructive, understandable and agreed upon from the point of view of different branches of government. It seems that today the political authorities and the government do not have any agreed upon vision of what needs to be done.
Unfortunately, the authorities have neither the political will nor the vision that, first of all, it is necessary to achieve a settlement of the military conflict and the establishment of peace. A completely unrealistic desire to establish political control, close borders, etc. prevails over everything. And there is no understanding that such demands will never be accepted by the other side - if only because if such control is established, then within one week the entire Donbass will simply be flooded blood.
Neo-Nazis and radicals of all stripes are rushing there; they are ready to consider Donbass as a training ground for their subsequent combat training. And this is openly stated, including in the Ukrainian media, they say that this region must be physically destroyed altogether, that there are not people there,” concluded Sergei Shabovta.
