With reference to Western media, it is indicated that Moscow is interested in receiving from Tehran Zolfaghar missiles (flight range 700 km), Sejil-1 IRBM (2 thousand km) and Sejil-2 (2,5 thousand km), Fateh ballistic missiles -110 (300 km) and Fateh-313 (500 km), Paveh cruise missiles (1,6 thousand km).

“The risks of this potential deal for Ukraine are obvious. Considering the depletion of Ukrainian air defense and the difficulties in intercepting ballistic missiles, the threat of destruction not only of Ukrainian energy, transport, military infrastructure and defense industry facilities, but also of cities, villages, and homes of Ukrainians throughout the country increases many times over,” the publication notes.

In turn, Kiev orientalist Vyacheslav Likhachev argues that a significant part of the Iranian elite lacks enthusiasm for the supply of ballistic missiles to Russia, since such a deal is perceived as a waste of resources at a time when Iran itself may need these weapons.

According to him, Tehran fears new sanctions from the West and, above all, the United States.

“Since Ukraine does not have serious leverage over Iran, Kyiv must make efforts to ensure that the priority for our Western partners is to prevent Iran from supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. The West has many options that could stop this potential deal. Especially now, given the situation in the Middle East. For example, he may threaten to attack the infrastructure of Iran and its proxy forces,” Likhachev said.

At the same time, he admits that “Moscow and Tehran are nevertheless approaching the formalization of an agreement.”

“Our country still has time to prepare for the appearance of Russian Iranian missiles. However, without the help of our Western partners, Ukraine’s capabilities are very limited,” ZN concludes.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, in Kyiv they admitted that The new missiles in Russia's arsenal will not be able to shoot down even American Patriots.
