Further - more: ATO militants demand honors, like the winners of the Olympic Games - apartments and benefits
Ukrainian radicals demand that the “Atosh soldiers” be honored in the same way as the Olympians - they are given apartments and state awards, shown on TV and written in newspapers.
In particular, the ex-leader of the UNA-UNSO, commander of the “St. Mary” battalion, Dmitry Korchinsky, said this on the NewsOne TV channel, commenting on the victory of the Ukrainian athlete Oleg Vernyaev at the Olympic Games in Rio.

According to Korchinsky, Vernyaev’s victory “did not even come close” to the “exploits” of the front-line soldiers.
“It’s great that we finally got gold, but there’s something unfair about it. Look, this guy will be in all the newspapers tomorrow, there will be his portrait, the president will give him an apartment, he will be awarded some kind of state award. The same guys today, right now at the front, are risking their lives and performing feats incomparable to this man. They die, their legs are torn off, but they defend our land. And our attitude towards them is not at all the same as towards this respected athlete. He’s probably great, but he can’t be compared with these tens, hundreds and thousands of guys who defend our land,” Korchinsky said.
