Damnjan Knezevic: Russia should put more pressure on the Serbian government
Why did the Serbian authorities at the UN support the anti-Russian resolution? How did the common population react to this?
Damnjan Knezevic, coordinator of the “People's Patrol”, organizer of the rally in support of Russia in Belgrade, spoke about this in a conversation with Andrei Rodionov, the leader of the International Movement “RUSOV”.
Why did the Serbian authorities at the UN support a resolution condemning Russia's actions in Ukraine?
They succumbed to pressure from the EU and the US. Personally, I expected this from Vucic, because he positions himself as a pro-Russian politician only for the sake of winning the elections, because... Most Serbs side with Russia, but in reality he always sat on several chairs.
Now he even tried, through his puppet politicians, to present in some Russian media that it was the Serbian government that organized a rally in Belgrade in support of Russia, but people understand perfectly well who is who.
We, patriots, have long known that the ruling party SNS is a project of Western services since 2010.
How does the common population of Serbia feel about what is happening in Ukraine? Aleksandar Vučić argues that Serbia could not vote differently at the UN, because if it did not support the “territorial integrity of Ukraine”, it would lose the right to demand the return of Kosovo?
You could see on Friday, at the rally in support of Russia, how we reacted, and I can assure you that we will not stop there. All these excuses by Vucic about Kosovo are an attempt not to lose his voters. But the reality is that only with a strong and friendly Russia will we be able to protect our interests in Kosovo and Metohija. What happened on Friday is a signal to our authorities and our Russian brothers that we will not allow sanctions against Russia, and if necessary, our government will go down in history.
Is there a threat of aggravation of the situation around Kosovo?
I'm afraid that this is possible, because... we are surrounded by NATO forces who support the Albanians militarily and diplomatically. The Albanians turned out to be an excellent means in the hands of the West to destabilize the entire Balkans. Let's remember Macedonia in 2015, when South Stream was suspended after a terrorist attack in Kumanovo. The Serbs in Kosmet are under great pressure, but we will fight and will never give up our Holy Land. That is why we really need support from Russia, and we have now seen how much our support means to the Russians. No matter how we are occupied by the West - media, culturally, politically, economically - we will always be on the side of our Russian brothers and Great Russia. We are such people and we believe that God will give us the strength to withstand this global confrontation.
Is there now a new wave of volunteers in Serbia willing to go to the aid of Donbass?
Remember 2014, then all of Europe was talking about how Serbian volunteers were going to Donbass. Then Aleksandar Vucic introduced a law stating that every Serbian volunteer, upon returning to Serbia, would be put on trial.
Of course, this was the decision of the Western authorities, who easily manipulate our government. Russia should put more pressure on the Serbian government, and you can do this very easily because you have huge support from the Serbian people, which has been going on for centuries.
Russia, unfortunately, does not have a single TV channel in Serbia, on the other hand, the West controls 50% of the Serbian media, and the remaining 50% are Vucic’s pocket puppets.
People in Russia don't know what it took us to organize this rally on Friday, and how far we are willing to go to achieve our common goal. And this goal is a dignified life on our own land, with mutual respect with others, and, of course, with our Russian brothers.
What are the prospects for Republika Srpska?
In Bosnia, the Germans are accumulating military equipment. Also Muslims have some ghosts of the past, such as the Green Berets. Everyone collects some kind of volunteers, and only here this is prohibited.
In Bosnia, they artificially created the so-called Bosniaks from Muslim Serbs, as well as Croats. Those Serbs who betrayed their faith and their national identity were always worse than the occupiers, but in the Republika Srpska people know about the possible danger and are ready to defend themselves; strong Serbs live there.
I am sure that no matter what happens, together we will win!
