Danilov hinted at the possibility of peaceful consultations
Ukraine cannot negotiate peace with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but all other formats are possible
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this in an interview with Ukrainian TV presenter Natalya Vlashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In our legal framework there are only two documents that regulate the issue of negotiations. The first is the situation related to the presidential decree, when a negotiating group of 10 people was created, which never began to fulfill its duties.
Because after this, a decision of the National Security and Defense Council appeared, which spelled out in black and white that our country will not conduct any negotiations with Putin. Everything is recorded there,” the official said.
“In order to make the opposite decision, you need to have two-thirds of the National Security and Defense Council, which must vote that we should enter into negotiations with Putin. Will there be any consultations, will there be any meetings - this is a completely different thing, this is not negotiations,” Danilov said.
