Darth Vader became the poorest candidate for Kyiv mayor

This is evidenced by the results of the “Follow the Money” campaign, conducted by the Social Movement “HONESTLY”, with the coordination of CentreUA, in partnership with the National Democratic Institute of International Relations with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Black Sea Regional Cooperation Fund.
According to campaign coordinator Sergei Pernikosa, a number of candidates declared zero income, including candidate Darth Vader, who does not work anywhere and his family has no home. At the same time, Darth Vader, like some other “poor” candidates, somehow found money for election advertising.
Of the parties, the most expensive campaign is that of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, which collected about 64,5 million for the elections and spent about 63 million UAH, with about 85% of the expenses going on advertising in the media. In second place in terms of spending on the election campaign is “Rukh for Reforms”. This party collected about 39 million and spent about 38 million. Only 14 parties out of 40 provided information on expenses, noted Sergei Pernikosa.
The richest candidates who declared more than 1 million UAH. income for 2014 - Gennady Balashov, Alexander Omelchenko, Vladimir Makeenko, Alexander Mirny. Klitschko, Bereza, Korban and Yekhanurov received an income of about 300 thousand UAH.
