Negotiations will be held in Sochi on Tuesday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Xavier Bettel, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, who has taken over the post of EU chairman for six months, Kommersant reports.

In an interview with the publication, answering a question about the progress of implementation of the Minsk agreements, the politician noted that it is too early to talk about success, and believes that the parties have taken the right path.

“There is now a truce there, in accordance with the Minsk agreements,” says Xavier Betel. “If the situation develops in the same direction, then I will be among those who say: “Yes, let’s think not about new sanctions, but about their abolition.” But it’s too early to talk about this in October; we have to wait until the end of the year, especially since the situation remains fragile.”
