So, ex-DPR Prime Minister Alexander Borodai with his closest associates - ex-Minister of State Security of the DPR Andrei Pinchuk, ex-representative of the DPR in the Russian Federation Andrei Rodkin and other equally distinguished comrades - held the founding congress of the Union of Donbass Volunteers in Moscow on Saturday, October 11 .

And he spent it not just anywhere, but in a very symbolic place - in the pompous building of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill.
According to Borodai, over one and a half thousand people have already signed up for the organization. About 570 delegates from all over Russia and Donbass arrived at the congress itself.

1The meeting was very representative. Here you have Motorola in a green “non-field” uniform with the shoulder straps of a lieutenant colonel, and the commander of the legendary “Pyatnashka” Abkhaz, and the famous Ossetian volunteer Mamai, and the commander of the DRG “Rusich” Alexey Milchakov. There was Yuri Shevchenko, who, after the death of Alexey Mozgovoy, led his “Ghost” brigade. The head of the military police of the DPR, Viktor Anosov (Nos), arrived from Donetsk.

12079700_1660285010851780_1439429119221208784_nThe youngest participant at the congress was a fighter from Kyiv with the call sign Vandal. He served in the Kiev "Loyal Cossacks". During the Euromaidan events, this 17-year-old boy became famous for recapturing the Russian flag from some Bandera member. It seems like I studied at Kiev University at the Faculty of Journalism. He will probably continue his studies in Moscow soon. He started fighting in Slavyansk.

Believe me, a lot of authoritative volunteers gathered at the congress, so when the Strelkovites begin to tell fables that Boroday was not and is not loved in the Donbass militia, that they never recognized his authority, that in general Boroday is a coward, then this cannot all be taken seriously.

By the way, Borodai, a big fashionista, gave up his hipster jackets this time. He came in a “regular” jacket, on the lapel of which hung the star of the hero of the DPR.

5

The congress began two hours late, as not all delegates were able to get there on time. Therefore, those who arrived on time chatted cheerfully but quietly with each other. Motorola stood next to Abkhaz all morning, without taking off his cap. He refused to comment and shook his head negatively when asked to be photographed. Like, I don’t want to attract attention.

I devoted part of my time to looking for representatives of the “Buryat-Yakut armored forces” who so frightened the Ukrainians during this war year. I found only one - bald, short, chubby, with a belly, but he asked not to photograph him.

15The only people with slanted eyes were Moscow journalist Daria Andreeva and short Chinese tourists from Macau. They liked the strong Russian volunteers so much that they started a photo shoot with them right at the entrance to the hall where the congress was about to begin.

6

And the former militiamen themselves, when meeting their front-line comrades, immediately began taking pictures with them on their smartphones. They liked to do this next to the bronze bust of Stalin.

7

The congress was divided into two parts. The first one was public. Journalists were present. The second, in order to be able to talk openly about what was painful, was held behind closed doors.
Borodai and Pinchuk, who sat on the presidium, defined the goals of the Union of Donbass Volunteers as follows: firstly, it is social, medical and any other assistance to volunteers, as well as to the families of their fallen comrades. Many of them have lost and still cannot find work, many need long-term and thorough treatment, some need prosthetics.

8This is what the famous volunteer Olga Kulygina (Valkyrie), who was captured by the Ukrainians in 2014, will do. Then, thanks to Igor Bezler, she was barely exchanged. The Ukrainians refused to do this for a long time.

The second direction is comprehensive support for the current official authorities of the heroic Novorossiysk republics - the DPR and LPR. Borodai, by the way, at the beginning of the congress read out greetings to the participants from their leaders - Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky. He conveyed greetings and good wishes to the delegates and from the Prime Minister of Crimea Sergei Aksenov. Let me remind you that many Russian volunteers who went through the war in Donbass started in the Crimea in the militia, when in February-March they helped him take power and hold a referendum on joining Russia.

9

Borodai also told those present that the Union intends to seek the adoption of a law by the State Duma, according to which Russian volunteers of Donbass will be given the status of combatants, to which they are now not entitled, since the state did not send them to this war.

Andrei Pinchuk told the delegates that preparations for the congress lasted two and a half months, as the program documents and charter of the organization underwent legal examination.
Pinchuk invited participants to vote on provisions on who can be considered a Russian volunteer of Donbass, and who can join the organization.

19

This could be any person who did not necessarily fight in Donbass. He could carry humanitarian aid there as a volunteer or offer his services as a doctor, manager, media worker - in general, in those areas in which Donbass had a need.

It does not matter at all how much time the applicant spent in Donbass. “Seniority” is not important here. However, one’s participation in those events must be confirmed by someone or something.

A prerequisite for an applicant to join the Union must be the absence of claims against him from law enforcement agencies, both the Russian Federation and the DPR and LPR. Everyone will have to undergo a background check on this. It’s simply no secret that some volunteers were engaged in, to put it mildly, not entirely noble deeds in the Donbass. In particular, banditry and looting. Therefore, there is no way for such people to join the organization.

17

Also, one of the mandatory conditions for membership must be Russian citizenship or some documents that allow the volunteer to stay on the territory of the Russian Federation.

A member of the Union must also refuse to criticize the official authorities of the DPR and LPR. In general, it was unequivocally said that you should not be like Igor Ivanovich.

At the congress, the board of the Union of Donbass Volunteers was approved, the chairman of which was Alexander Borodai. Andrey Pinchuk was approved as executive director. Andrey Rodkin – auditor.
By the way, the latter suggested that those gathered hold a competition for designs for a monument to Russian volunteers who died in Donbass. You also need to think about where it can be installed. It could be Moscow or Rostov-on-Don, because almost all the volunteers entered Donbass through this city; it could also be one of the cities of Crimea. Borodai’s suggestion that the monument could eventually be erected in Kyiv caused a storm of delight among those gathered.
I am pleased that Andrei Rodkin remembered me with a kind word at the congress, talking about my initiative to adopt the Code of Honor of Russian Volunteers (I even wrote an article about this http://sdonbassa.ru/page51725.html ), in order to put a barrier to such unseemly affairs that flourished among the militia last summer, such as squeezing, throwing civilians and military personnel into the basement without any reason, looting and other outrages that caused confusion and rejection among local residents. The congress voted for these two initiatives.

10

The “Donbass Volunteer” sign was also approved. This is a St. George's cross with two intersecting swords.

This is in no way a medal, or an award at all. As Pinchuk said at the congress, there are no benefits for her. Therefore, you should not present a certificate of receipt of this badge to traffic cops, in stores and other institutions, so that he does not have to take them away later.

14

Badges were awarded to Motorola, Abkhaz, Mamai and other equally deserving comrades. Eventually, the badges will be awarded to all members of the organization.

Father Macarius, who constantly comes to care for volunteers in Donbass, proposed the day of St. George the Victorious as the day of the Russian volunteer of Donbass. His proposal was accepted with enthusiasm. Many shouted: “Love!”

12

The public part ended on a positive note: Borodai said that at that very hour in Kyiv ATO participants had gathered for a similar event and, laughing, even suggested establishing a teleconference with them. Everyone laughed at this for a very long time.
